Sunset at St Joe's pier was painted alla prima (with direct observation and in one sitting) at the pier of St Joseph, MI in 2022.
This painting uses soft colors and the full capabilities of the watercolor medium to capture all the subtones of a powerful sunset by the lake. The final composition is peaceful but energetic.
