Sunset in the Michigan Dunes

West Michigan has become my sanctuary. Just alone in the Summer of 2023 I visited twice, and got my inspiration for this painting.

I don’t know if it’s about the long empty beaches, the hiking trails through the unexplored dunes, their charming towns (St Joe, Holland, Saugatuck, Grand Heaven…) or the sound of the waves splashing against their unique piers, but I can’t get enough.

The dunes by Lake Michigan are one of my favorite spots to see sunsets. The high perspective allows you to see the reflections of the water from miles away, creating the perfect scenery and an endless collections of memories. 

This painting is ideal for any room of the home that needs a splash of color, from bedrooms to living rooms.
